I am committed to protecting the personal data that you provide and recognise the importance of being clear about how I intend to use it.

This privacy policy relates to personal data I collect from you or that you provide to me, which will be treated in accordance with GDPR requirements (General Data Protection Regulations applied by European legislation).

 

1. Information held

In order to offer you the best possible service, I will require you to provide me with some information about yourself. These may include:

• Name

• Date of Birth

• Contact number

• Email address

• Residential address

• GP details

 

2. Basis for holding these information

As a member of the British Association or Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I abide by the Code of Practice and Ethics required by this organisation.

I only use your data in relation to the delivery of my services, and do not use it for marketing purposes or sell to third parties. There are very specific limited reasons why I may need to share/process your data. In exceptional circumstances and in order to protect life or other circumstances stipulated by UK law, I may be required to pass your personal data to another person or organisation. There may also be situations where these information may be required to be disclosed by law or in connection with legal proceedings.

I will retain your personal data only as long as necessary to offer you services and as required by statutory regulations and by the BACP Code of Practice and Ethics.


3. Information about the data my website collects

Cookies
This website uses cookies. Personal Information from your device is collected such as geolocation data, IP address, unique identifiers (e.g. MAC address) and other information, which relates to your activity through the site. You can choose your use of cookies via the pop up cookie notification and by following the instructions of your device preferences.

Analytics
My website host, Webhealer, collects behaviour patterns of website visitors. This does not identify individuals but gives me data about: the number of site visits and number of specific page views.

Website “Click here to email” button
No information from the “Click here to email” button is stored by the website or the website host. I use the personal data of your email address for correspondence with you regarding your enquiry about my services. I retain the information for the period we are in correspondence and then it is deleted as confidential waste. I do not use the information you supply via the “Click here to email” button for marketing purposes or share with third parties unless I am required to by law. I use Gmail when responding to website enquiries. Gmail encrypts messages in transit. This means that emails can’t be read by third parties in transit. Google servers are based in the US. Gmail as part of Google is covered by the US privacy shield (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/list for more information)

Third parties websites
There are hyperlinks contained within my website which link to other websites owned and operated by third parties. These third parties have their own privacy policies and I recommend that you consider those when using their websites. I do not accept any liability or responsibility in terms of the privacy and security practices of these third party organisations and their websites.


4. Data Protection Complaints

If you have a concern about how I have handled your personal data, I would ask that you raise it with me directly in the first instance, before contacting the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can submit a complaint by email to jandre.psychotherapist@gmail.com, by telephone on 07480 062 190, or in writing to my consulting room address in W11. I will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 days of receiving it. I will then investigate the matter and respond to you without undue delay, keeping you informed of progress along the way. Once my investigation is complete, I will write to you with the outcome and the reasons for my decision.

If you remain dissatisfied with how I have handled your complaint, you have the right to escalate the matter to the ICO, the UK's independent data protection authority, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
